MoGUL organized trainings for enhancing capacities for investigative journalism

In the period November-February, MogUL organized trainings for journalists from local media and CSOs activities in order to enhance capacities for investigative journalism on the local level.

First training – with Mr Dragoljub Dusko Vukovic, media analyst, journalism and PR trainer, on the topics:

Journalism and its role in democratic societies: From news to research stories
What investigative journalism differs from other types of journalism?
Challenges and risks of dealing with investigative journalism in Montenegro, especially in local media

Workshop: How to get ideas for research stories and what about them?

Second training with Mr Leonard Kerquki, winner of the EU Investigative Reporting Award, on the topics:

Investigative journalism through examples of my emissions

Ethics in Online Media – Empowering Portals

Third traning with Ana Komatina, EU Investigative Reporting Award, on the topics:

What is a research story and what are its essential elements
Sources in investigative journalism
Use of “open” data when exploring the topic
How to get answers to journalistic questions (with a focus on interlocutors and sending requests for Free Access to Information)

Fourth training with Ilmira Lika, TV Teuta director, on the topics:

Experience of TV Teuta with research topics, challenges and threats
Different approach of journalists with local actors and with state institutions
