Association of citizens “Why not?” organized a two-day training for ACTION SEE grantees and representatives of several non-governmental organizations from BiH. The training was held in Banjaluka, on September 10th and 11th 2018, in the premises of Hotel Bosna. The training was led by Feđa Kulenović, an independent information expert who, among other things, is actively working on data processing and visualization using free and open-source software.
The main focus of this training was on the entire process of Holistic Security Approach, which means that rather than looking separately at the importance of our digital security, psycho-social well-being and organizational security processes, we should attempt to integrate them and highlight their interrelatedness. Second part of the module was aimed at digital and information security, that would prepare individuals and their organizations for planning better procedures of protecting their infrastructure and communication online.
During first day of training we created strategies and planed how to increase security of organizations and individuals, while during the second day we learned how to use several tools, and implemented some of them. Participants had an opportunity during both days of the workshop to learn through practical exercises and hands-on work with minimum presentations.
This project is implemented by ACTION SEE (Accountability, Technology and Institutional Openness Network in SEE) in the territory of SEE, consisting of Metamorphosis Foundation in partnership with the Westminster Foundation for Democracy from the UK, CRTA – Center for Research, Transparency and Accountability in Serbia, Association of Citizens Why not? from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Center for Democratic Transition from Montenegro, Open Data Kosovo – ODK and Levizja Mjaft! from Albania, with the financial support of the European Union.
